High grade Premium (LS) Binchotan Long-Stick is a natural white charcoal made from Eucalyptus hardwood, produced using traditional Japanese carbonization methods. It delivers exceptional heat performance, long burn time, and clean burning characteristics — comparable to our Premium Binchotan used in yakitori restaurants across Japan.
Restaurant-grade high burning temperature, does not contain any chemicals, and made from all-natural hardwood.
A higher fixed carbon content means you’ll get more heat and less smoke from your charcoal.
A good test for quality Binchotan is the sound it makes — when you tap two pieces together, it produces a clear metallic or glass-like “ring,” a hallmark of authentic Binchotan quality.

About Traditional Binchotan
Binchotan charcoal is a type of activated charcoal made through a slow, high-heat carbonization process that removes impurities and increases density. Our Eucalyptus-based Traditional Binchotan is an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to oak Binchotan, offering the same clean-burning, long-lasting performance.
It’s highly versatile and valued for many uses, including:
-
Grilling: Perfect for yakitori, kushiyaki, BBQ, and robata. Burns cleanly and evenly with minimal smoke and ash.
-
Water Filtration: Naturally removes impurities and odors from drinking water.
-
Air Purification: Helps absorb pollutants and freshen the air.
-
Deodorization: Ideal for neutralizing odors in shoes, closets, and refrigerators.
-
Gardening: Enhances soil health by improving moisture and nutrient retention.
Performance & Quality
Traditional Binchotan burns clean and steady for up to 5 hours, producing high, consistent heat that allows food to retain its natural flavor.
The only smoke you’ll see is from meat juices and fat dripping onto the charcoal — not from the charcoal itself.
To test its quality, strike two pieces together — the sharp, ringing tone is a true sign of premium Binchotan.
How to Light
Lighting Binchotan takes patience and the right technique. Do not use lighter fluid or chemicals.
For best results, place the charcoal in a charcoal chimney starter and heat over a gas burner for 20–30 minutes until glowing red before transferring to your grill.
